A New Stylish Way to Tuck in a Dress Shirt
The Many Ways to Tuck in a Dress Shirt
There are a variety of ways to tuck in a dress shirt. You can do a half tuck, full tuck, front tuck, or no tuck. Today’s let’s talk about a new and stylish way to tuck in a dress shirt; the wrap and tuck.
Ok, first let me tell you that this is not a new idea, style icon Audrey Hepburn sported this style trick way back when, and anything that Audrey did or wore so effortlessly is indeed worth a try.
The wrap and tuck is relatively easy to pull off and can really work with any style of dress shirt.
The Wrap Tuck
In this outfit I opted to try it first with a light chiffon dress shirt instead of a stiff cotton one because it was easier to work with and I didn’t like how this shirt looked tucked in. Since this dress shirt is see through I wore a light tank top underneath.
Depending on the fabric of the shirt you want to try this with will determine how tight you wrap your shirt. I went for a looser look because of the fabric of this shirt and I liked how fluid and pretty it looked a little looser. I also left the back of the shirt untucked.
As you can see from Audrey’s photo wearing a stiff dress shirt and tucking it in tightly looks just as stylish. Audrey took it a step further and popped the collar and folded her cuffs in a unique way.
It’s not like you need instructions on doing the wrap tuck but just in case.
With your shirt untucked and unbuttoned grab the bottom corner of the shirt and pull it towards the opposite side and tuck it in. Grab the other bottom corner of the shirt and tuck it in. If you have pretty buttons you can wrap that side on top of the other. You can leave it half untucked, like I did, if it’s a lighter fabric. If you have a stiff cotton shirt I would advise tucking it in snugly so it doesn’t come undone.
Which brings me to mentioning, make sure your wrap tuck doesn’t come untucked. If you’re wearing an undershirt, like I am, than you have nothing to worry about.
Are you going to give this tuck a try?
I going to try it with this striped dress shirt next! I’m curious to how it’ll look with the bold cuffs, collar and contrasting stripes!

PS: Don’t forget to add a pop of color to your outfit if you’re wearing neutrals. Those super cute olive green flats are from Tieks! I coordinated them with an emerald crossbody.
