What to Wear with Your Favorite White Skinny Jeans

As I mentioned in September the “no white after Labor Day” rule no longer applies. There is no reason why you can’t wear white skinny jeans after September 1st. Other than on rainy days when it can get muddy and there is a real chance that you will get those white skinny jeans filthy.

During the fall white jeans are a stylish way to brighten up a fall look without much fuss or work.

When transitioning your white skinny jeans from summer to fall there are a few things you need to keep in mind. Like colors, shoes, and the perfect coat or jacket to wear with the outfit.

In this outfit I wanted to to keep the color scheme on the lighter side. The white jeans would really pop against burgundy or royal purple but muted colors tones make an easier transition. I paired these jeans with a olive green military jacket. The color is not harsh against the white jeans and the military jacket really pops against the white. A military jacket is also very fall. Pairing the white jeans with a “fall” item is the first step to making these jeans work for the season.

Next I added a light blue button down chambray shirt. The shirt adds to the structure of the outfit and still keeps the color scheme on the lighter side. By structure I mean the shape and look. This would have a different feel if it was pair with a flawy chiffon blouse.

The taupe ankle boots match the olive green perfectly and don’t draw attention away from the entire outfit. I originally was thinking of wear black ankle boots but the dark color really distracted from the entire look. It brought the eyes immediately down to the shoes and threw the outfit off balance. The boost add to the “fall feel” and really help make the jeans fall appropriate.

I did want to add a touch of darkness to the outfit so I decided the black item would be a small cross body with gold studs. The gold studs soften the black and creates a cohesiveness with the rest of the look. Finally light blue stud earrings to match the light blue chambray shirt.

Remember that color plays a vital role when transitioning your favorite white skinny jeans to fall. If you’re ready to jump into the deep end of the color wheel then pair those white jeans with deep royal colors. But if you want to start of slowly then I would recommend something along the lines of the outfit I’m wearing in this post. Fall colors are still integrated into the look but it’s not a harsh contrast.
