A Cute Summer Beach Outfit for SoCal
Cute Summer Beach Outfit
Southern California beaches call for lightweight and light-colored clothing that both keep you cool and protect you from the sun. During our vacation in San Diego, I wore a lot of shorts, dresses, and swimsuits. When we headed to the beach, I made sure I was ready with a stylish summer beach outfit.
It can be very simple putting together a summer beach outfit. There are two ways you can go, wear a bikini or a cute pair shorts and tank top outfit. It’s too hot for much else and wearing too many clothes defeats the purpose of getting that SoCal Summer tan.
For my SoCal Summer beach outfit, I opted for some fun patterns and cute summer accessories. The two distinct patterns work so well together because they are in the same color scheme. The blues in the tank top look nicely paired with the colors in the shorts. They are both of the same types of fabric, so that’s another commonality.
The bright red-orange in the sandals matches the bright red-orange in the shorts, so that connects the bottom to the top. The trick with color coordinating and matching different fabrics if creating cohesiveness in your entire outfit. You want any one piece to look out of place.
I finished off this summer beach outfit with fun accessories and a striped bucket bag.
Mission Beach
The outfit in these photos is the Summer beach outfit I wore to Mission Beach. Mission Beach is on the North side San Diego and has a younger crowd. Young 20-something college students walking the streets in swimsuits and board shorts is the norm. This smaller community was built on a sandbar between the ocean and the bay. You have two options when it comes to water activities. You can go to the ocean side or walk across the small beach town and head to the bay.
There is plenty to do in this little beach town. After lunch, we rented a few paddleboards and paddle boarding in the Marina side of Mission Beach. I’ll share those photos with you in an upcoming post.
The bay was filled with lots of small sailboats, paddle boarders, and younger summer camps. If you’re here in the summer, expect to see many children playing the Bay.
Stay Stylish,
