Casual Winter Look and Reaching Your New Year’s Goals
Dressing for a California Winter
To survive a California winter the main item you’ll need is a long coat.
This double breasted black coat is currently my favorite. I can easily layer it over jeans, a skirt, dress or trousers. Also, a black coat will match practically everything.
Overall, it doesn’t ever really get too cold here in California, except in the mountains. This is why you don’t see me in many traditional winter outfits. At the lowest it can be 28 degrees fahrenheit in early morning but that only occurs for about a week out of the year.
As you can see, I took a casual approach in this outfit. I paired my long winter coat with distressed jeans, stripes, flats and a burgundy scarf. This combination creates a casual yet stylish California winter appropriate outfit.
To keep your casual winter looks from being too plain wear a colored scarf and stripes. This combination always looks stylish.
Happy New Year!
The first day of the year is absolutely my favorite day! The beginning of the year sets the tone for the rest of the year, so make sure it’s good. On the 1st, I try to have the perfect day and so far it has been. <3 I love making resolutions and dreaming big at the start of the year! It’s an opportunity for fresh start! New goals, plans and unknown adventures will make this year special.
To keep my goals and dreams alive throughout the year I write them down every morning while enjoying my morning coffee. Every time I accomplish one I cross it off.
Writing down your goals everyday accomplishes two things. You keep your goals top of mind so you don’t forget them. And make sure you do one thing everyday towards accomplishing your goals. Then you’re more likely to achieve them.
I started doing this after reading The 21 Success Secrets of Self-Made Millionaires by Brian Tracy.
Follow Brian Tracy’s Recipe for Goal Setting:
1. Decide exactly what you want
2. Write it down
3. Set a deadline
4. Make a list of everything you need to do to achieve it
5. Organize the list into a plan
6. Take Action
7. Do Something every day
“If you go to work on your goals, your goals will go to work on you. If you go to work on your plan, your plan will go to work on you. Whatever good things we build end up building us.” – Jim Rohn
I can’t wait to see what this year holds for me and Peter. Thank you for being a part of our journey!
